Project Life!
The April edition, about four months too late but I've been busy. At the time, my parents were not home yet and I can not believe they will be leaving in two weeks for a short one month visit to Thailand. I was finally finding myself in April and truly getting over SP. The breakup was a rough time for me and as the months went on I got better, I met new people, I went on dates with new people. Looking back, I thoroughly believe everything happens for a reason.

I love the month inserts from Paislee Press. I have been trying to put them in the same position each month. I have also been using the same stickers for the months.

I have been trying to keep Project Life as simple as possible, not a lot of embellishments; just pictures and words. I haven't had time to really work on it like I did last year but I think I have fallen in love with the simplicity of the white space. I consistently use Tracy Larsen simply white photo templates with Keytin font 14. It has been my savior!

I really do love this project so much more. I love the idea of it being about my life this time, not "our" life because it's my work. I can't wait to look back and enjoy my youth. It's not just for adults with children, it can definitely be for young adults and teens.

project life | march

I know, March was forever ago.
I might have caught up on everything if my printers Wi-Fi kept working. I am halfway finished through May and will photograph April soon!

It seems so long ago.
When I look at the title and it says 'moving on,' I can really feel comfortable with how things have turned out in my life. My life has worked itself out quite well.

I need to work on taking photos of my pages, I am usually in a rush when I do it so that doesn't help. Anyone have any advice?

I heard that quote while watching He's Just Not That Into You and it hit a soft spot for me. I think it really helps.

An insert from my trip to NYC with W! We are headed there again in two weeks and I can't wait! I love taking day trips there, especially in the summer time. I really enjoyed the vegetarian festival, August will be two years as a vegetarian - oh gosh! And I love the photos W takes, he's pretty good at it and I am usually the one behind the camera.

I added two recipes. The card flips open like a mini card.
The parfaits are amazing to have for breakfast. I love the soy yogurt from Silk, it is delicious.

I changed my approach to Project Life in the next few months, I went with an easier simplistic approach. I haven't used a lot of the embellishments from the Core Kit because I have been so busy. So simpler = easier. I still love this project, looking at it throughout the year really is amazing. It is so touching to see all the new and old people in my life.

project life | february

May 21, 2013

I know what you're thinking... February!? It's May!
Well, I am a busy girl so getting it photographed and posted was not an easy task. It seems so long ago, February. It was about 3 months ago. So much has changed in three months.

I spent my first Valentine's Day alone since high school and it was just fine. I was never a huge Valentine's Day girl. Steve and I had always kept it pretty low key so it wasn't a big deal to spend it alone. At the time, I had convinced a friend to go see Safe Haven and he hated it, so did I though haha.

Friends kept me busy.
I became close with friends in grad school. We went out to dinners and laughed in class about who knows what. I felt like things were getting back to normal and my life was starting to look brighter.

I started doing yoga. Since then, I stopped haha. But I constantly workout throughout the week. With the dog and school, yoga needed more time than I could afford. Now that my parents are home and school is basically over with, I think I can spare some time. Fifa kept me sane on my lonely nights.

Words. Of. Wisdom.
It kept me sane.
My friends kept me sane. Quotes, words, hope. It's what helped me believe I was better off and it wasn't the end.
That blog post helped so much. I couldn't believe how true it was for me at the time.

The best part about February?
I got to watch my best friend get married. I got to take pictures for her to keep. I got to be her witness and sign her marriage papers. It was amazing.
I could not be happier for her. She deserves it. And although the distance sucks, we won't let it get in the way of our friendship.
It had been a while since I spoke to her so I called yesterday. I realized her husband, J, had left for a three week training. Even though she knew it would be like this, military life, it doesn't make it any easier. So we chatted for an hour and caught up.

I finished March this past weekend and will post that sooner than I did February.
I really do love this project. It has worked so much better for me doing it month-at-a-glance than doing it weekly. Especially since so far this year my weeks have been pretty boring with school.
Looking back on 2012 and 2013 when I'm older is going to be interesting. I will be glad I did it.

project life | january

Mar 29, 2013

January is complete.
It was seriously an amazing and terrible month all at the same time. I went to Thailand for about 3 weeks and had the time of my life only to come home to a boyfriend who blind sided me with a breakup. Now it really can not get much worse than that but as the weeks have gone on I have started to slowly pick up the pieces of my broken heart and put everything I have into school and my future. Project Life has seriously helped me look at the positives of what is going on in my life and not focus on that negativity.

Lessons. They are all lessons we learn in life. It was just another stepping stone.

Two inserts because I did so much it was hard not to add every picture I took.

Insert 1

They don't allow you to take pictures inside so the outside is all we have and that is totally fine because it's all about respect. One person designed this entire temple and the surrounding ones. It really is magical.

Insert 2
We stayed in Bangkok for about 5 days to visit family and go to a beach house (which I loved). I tanned by the pool for hours and enjoyed every minute of the sun. Although Bangkok is much hotter, walking through the markets was killing me. There were so many photos that making small collages was easier to showcase everything at once. One of my favorite things? The food. My aunt made amazing food. My breakfast meals were consistent of what I would normally have for dinner. LOVED IT.

This explains my leaving Thailand and my coming home.

Now I am not a sob story to make others feel sorry for what had happened or put any negative feelings on my ex. Things happen in life and if we can not accept them and grow from them, then what was the point? I have learned something new from every break up and this is one will be no different. I still love him and care for him but these moments happen in life. No hard feelings because I don't like to live my life in that way. If you have followed any of my previous posts on this whole ordeal, then you will see how much it hurt and how it gets better.. because it does.

But that was January. It is now March (basically April) and the sun is starting to shine and summer will soon be here. I am finishing up February and will post more soon!

project life 2013 | title page

Mar 12, 2013

Back in action! Sort of.
My life has been too busy with school and work to really focus all of my weekend and free time on this so I decided I would do it when I had time. I am in my last semester. SO EXCITING.

I love love love Project Life. Unfortunately, I did not finish last year. I made it up until Thanksgiving but finals got in the way and a few unfortunate events happened at the beginning of this year. I decided updating those last few weeks was not worth the trouble because I would like to keep it in the past. I do not want to pretend that what happened in the beginning of this year was okay because I was fooled by a person who I always thought would be honest with me and I refuse to look back and pretend. Now it is time to grow.

So this year. I start anew. I start with fresh pages about me. Just me. I will look back on 2012 with a smile and move forward. For the first few months I am going to do it on a monthly basis and when I finish school, I will move back into the weekly flow. I, seriously, love this and have missed it so much. I am definitely behind but here is my title page of 2013!

Title Page:

This quote is perfect for my life right now. Moving on to the next chapter in my life and loving every minute of it.

Thank you for stopping by and I can not wait to share more.
